Sedum spathulifolium – Crassulaceae- 'Mussel Point Stonecrop.' - This selection of stonecrop is seed-grown from wild plants growing on a rock overhang near Mussel Point in far northern California, and is characterized by steely blue-green leaves and very bright and showy yellow flower stalks. It is useful as a groundcover that needs very little care and water in the garden, and is very adaptable to many different climates and exposures.
Trinity Alps Stonecrop is low growing, and spreads laterally. It can do this equally well over rocks or in between cracks in cement retaining walls. It can succeed on vertical slopes as well as flat garden beds. It prefers some shade in hot climate zones. It is hardy to at least 0ºF.
